Cervical Smears

We strongly advise all women of 21 - 65 years of age, to have a cervical smear test as follows:

  • Age 25 - 49: every three years
  • Age 50 - 64: every five years

We have a recall system to help to remind you when your test is due.

The cervical smear test can be done by either the doctor or the practice nurse. When booking your appointment, please tell the receptionist it is for a smear test.

For more information on cervical smears and when you should have them done, visit NHS Choices
