Child Health Clinics

Clinics for immunisation and developmental checking of the under 5s are held as follows:

Doctor and Nurse are in attendance to provide scheduled immunisations and baby 6 week checks.  Attendance is by appointment only.

Please do NOT bring a sick child to this clinic.

IMPORTANT All appointments for travel are designated as NON-URGENT.  Appointments need to be booked well in advance, i.e. at least 4-6 weeks prior to travel.  If we are unable to accommodate you please contact a private travel clinic who should be able to deal with your request immediately.

HOW WE WORK

All patients are required to book the following appointments with one of our practice nurse:

• For single destination trips - DOUBLE appointment (20 minutes)
• For multiple destination trips - TRIPLE appointments (30 minutes)

HELP US TO HELP YOU

Please ensure that you book an appointment for each person travelling.  Consultations on other family members cannot be discussed during your appointment.

• Please come as prepared as possible with details of your destination, type of trip and holiday type (i.e. package, backpacking camping, cruise etc.)
• Date of travel 
• Length of stay, planned activities

Please Note: Malaria tablets are not available on the NHS to anyone.  Depending on the recommended tablets you can either request a script from the doctor or purchase from the chemist.

Some vaccinations are only available privately at the surgery (you will be advised of the cost) or at a private clinic.

Flu Immunisations

Are you 65 or older?

Do you suffer from:

• respiratory disease,
• heart disease,
• kidney disease,
• liver disease,
• diabetes,
• a weak immune system
• or have had a stroke?

If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then your doctor recommends that you are protected against influenza. Vaccination can help protect you from flu this winter.

You CANNOT catch flu from the vaccine.
